Cheri and her husband were happily anticipating the birth of their second child when she unexpectedly developed complications, which quickly became life threatening for her and sadly led to the loss of their baby. Cheri was quickly transferred to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center from another hospital. The Trauma Team assisted in her care, which required massive amounts of blood and blood products to save her life.

Part of Cheri’s grief healing journey has included becoming a part of the Legacy Foundation Board, as a way of giving back to the people who helped save her life. Cheri and her husband now have two healthy, happy, active children. Cheri delights in being a mom. She also finds great joy in coaching girls basketball and softball teams.
