Christopher Guzman

Christopher Guzman, a well-respected Portland Police Officer of seven years, was on motorcycle patrol in January 2002 when he was T-boned by a car. EMS and fellow officers arrived at the scene, rendering excellent care and transport. Chris suffered facial, head, and extremity fractures. He received expert care in Legacy Emanuel's ED and OR by a team of doctors, nurses and trauma staff. Chris was in critical condition in the West Wing ICU for many days, after which he received treatment in the TRACU and RIO.

Chris now enjoys raising his two sons with his wife, Michelle, a nurse. The Guzmans lend support to other law enforcement officers and families when injured, as they understand all too well the long and challenging journey involved in such ordeals.
